I recreated the first song I made public entirely but kinda in the same subject about being left alone
The old song is just a cliche hero journey with lame lyrics and the new one is about a breakup.
The highlight I think is the change in my writing over time and less reliance of AI to help

He left his coat
On the back of the chair.
Still smells like firewood
And something I can’t name.
One glass half full,
The other untouched.
I trace the rim
With my fingernail,
Too slow.
I don’t cry anymore.
But my chest won’t stop echoing.
It’s a lonely road
When no one sees you vanish.
You keep walking
Like it matters.
Like they’ll notice
When the silence shifts.
I forget his laugh
But not the way
He would leave the room
Before he finished a sentence.
Some wounds
Don’t want to heal.
They just nest in your ribs
And hum at night.
I don’t ask why
The questions never answer back.
It’s a lonely road
When even your shadow
Gives up.
You wear your name
Like a wet coat
Heavy, shapeless,
Clinging.
If he were here,
I’d say nothing.
I’d just let the silence
Do what it does best.
It’s a lonely road
And I walk it like glass
Slow
Barefoot
Feeling every crack.
It’s a lonely road
And it won’t remember me.
But I keep going
Because something in me
Refuses to fade quietly.
Still smells like firewood.
Still tastes like goodbye.
